On the left side of the screen is the Find By bar. When you enter text in any of the text boxes, the corresponding record will come up.

 

You can use the Find tab to locate contacts in all areas of the Main screen. Whether you are viewing the Addresses, Programs, Transactions, Families, Occasions, History or Banquets, you can quickly move around to any contact using the find column.

 

To seach by any of the fields, click in the field and begin typing. The system uses Incremental Seaching. This means that the first match will show up in the box as you type. Typing additional letters will futher narrow down the match. When the correct name appears in the box, press Enter or Tab.

You can also use the down-arrows to scroll to the name you want to find. When you locate the name, click on it to display the record in the Main screen.

Last, First

The Last, First box provides an easy way to search by last name when more than one contact have that name. In addition, it combines the Husband's last name field with the Wife last name field.

 

His Last / His First

If you are searching for a man, enter his last name in the His Last box. If there is more than one person with the same last name, enter the first name in the His First box. The His First box will only display first names that match the last name entered in the His Last box

and therefore you must start by entering the last name.

 

Her Last / Her First

The same procedure applies for finding a woman. Use the Her Last and Her First fields.

 

Searching by Company, Address and Street Name work the same way.

 

Click the More button to dispay more search options. See below.

 

Note: If you set the Optimize for Large Organization option, these search options will be unavailable. You will only be able to search by fields described below.

His Last / His First

Enter the complete last name of the man in the His Last box and press Tab.

If there is only one match, the Main screen will show that record. If there is more than one match, the His First box will drop down displaying a list of matching first names. After choosing a first name, the Main screen will display the matching record.

 

Her Last / Her First

The same procedure applies for finding a woman. Use the Her Last and Her First fields.

 

Name/Company: Enter any part of the name or company.

 

Address: Enter any part of the address.

 

Phone: Enter any part of the phone number.

 

Email: Enter any part of the Email address.

In the Search Results window that pops up with matching names, you can double-click any match open the Main screen dispaying that record.

 

Click the Next button to display more search and sort options.

Contact ID: Enter the Contact ID# to search the ID# assigned by the system. Note: This is an internal system number that never changes and is not the same as the Record Number.

 

Receipt No: Use the arrow on the right side to bring up a Drop-Down list which will list all the receipts that have been entered in the system. Choose the Receipt Number you want to look up and the contact who received that Receipt will show up on the Main Screen.

 

Invoice No: Same as Receipt No above, except it uses invoices instead of receipts.

 

Sort By:

You can change how the records are sorted. Choose Name or Entry Order. This setting is temporary and will only remain in effect while the program is running. Restarting the program will have the records sorted by name.

 

Click the Back button to go back to the first Find By screen.

 

Note: If you set the Optimize for Large Organization option, the only search option available using the "Next" button is the Contact ID.
